Sustainable Business Processes : A Key to Long Term Sucess in the Corporate World

Nowadays, we identify sustainability as "sustainable actions," that have a positive impact on environtment. But why we always think and act like that? Simply because environtment is the most visible part to society. 

Sustainable on Business Process does not only  about environment, but also includes sustainability of people, prosperity, and purpose on business itself. Sustainable business earns prosperity by being socially responsible and wise in using resources. 

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reports that 92% of the world's largets companies now publis their Corporate  Social Responsibility (CSR) reports. Most of firms use CSR as one of thei sustainability business process and strategy. CSR can be analogous as cost incurred by firms to pay people who are allowed them to run their businesses. Firms usually providing educational support such as scholarships to realize their CSR.

Sustainable business process also include firm's supply operation process. Firm are not only required to have minimum or zero waste on its manufacture, but also to ensure that waste after their products are used by consumers can be converted into production input. Ethics being major role related to sustainable of the business. Investors tend to consider the ethics adopted by the firms in running their business process. 

The United Nations Global Compact reports that sustainable companies tend to be more successful in attracting and retaining talent, as 77% of millenials consider a company's social and environmental commitments when deciding where to work. According to a study by EY, 75% of business executives believe that sustainability is incrasingly important for their companies.

Sustainability on business process are important for businesses  in today's world due to the existence of business itself. Sustainable business process create value of competitive advantage, meet the needs of consumers, engages new top talents, improve reputation, which ultimately leads to new opportunities.
